Registered Nurse (RN) – Midwest Health, Inc.

Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to residents, and supervise day‑to‑day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants.
- Direct the day‑to‑day functions of nursing assistants in accordance with rules, regulations, and guidelines governing the long‑term care facility.
- Ensure all nursing personnel comply with established policies, procedures, and state/federal standards.
- Plan and coordinate shift services, programs, and activities; make written and oral reports as required.
- Collaborate with resident services, physicians, and other departments to maintain comprehensive resident care.
- Maintain resident documentation: charting, admissions, transfers, discharges, incident reports, medication orders, lab data, and care plans.
- Interpret department policies to personnel, residents, visitors, and government agencies.
- Participate in government inspections, facility surveys, and the review of discharge plans.
- Encourage attending physicians to review and sign treatment plans and progress notes.
- Respond to telephone orders and transcribe them to Physicians’ Order Forms.
- Complete administrative duties such as medical forms, evaluations, studies and charting as needed.
- Advise the Nurse Supervisor on staffing needs, absenteeism, and workforce evaluation.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident care information.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations when using equipment and supplies.

Physical Requirements
- Regular worksite attendance.
- Valid RN license in good standing with the state.
- Valid CPR certification.
- Basic computer skills.
- Proficient in English (read, write, speak).
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Assist in the evacuation of residents during emergencies.
- Perform job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Use transfer/gait belts for residents lifting >25 lbs and be aware of required body movements.
- Physical tasks: lift up to 10 lbs (frequently); 11‑25 lbs (rarely); 26‑50 lbs (rarely); >50 lbs (rarely); carry up to 10 lbs (occasionally).
- Reach above shoulder height (frequently); at shoulder height (constantly); below shoulder height (frequently).
- Push/Pull (constantly).
- Hand manipulation: grasping (constantly); handling (constantly); torquing (rarely); fingering (constantly).
- Twisting, bending, crawling, squatting, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and balancing required.
- Operate an automobile and various games (if applicable).
- Relate to ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and hostile residents.
- Use prosthetics as required to meet senses adequacy.
