Compensation & Travel
- 24-Hour Call Pay Rate:$2,805-$2,924/day
- Hourly Equivalent:$116.88-$121.83/hour
- Callback Pay Rate:$391-$425/hour
- Fully covered housing, coordinated on your behalf
- Fully covered rental car, coordinated on your behalf
- Round-trip airfare home coordinated and covered throughout the assignment
- Travel and accommodations are arranged and covered throughout the assignment
- Additional support includes dedicated credentialing assistance, malpractice coverage assistance, streamlined onboarding, weekly pay, and ongoing recruiter support from placement through completion of the assignment.
Summary:
HCEPInc is seeking a Neurosurgery Physician to provide ongoing 24-hour call coverage for an established hospital-based neurosurgery program in Topeka, Kansas. This opportunity is designed to help reduce the call burden for the facility's two employed neurosurgery providers.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable providing inpatient neurosurgical care, including operating room coverage, inpatient follow-up and rounding, and management of neurosurgical trauma cases in a Level II Trauma Center.
Essential Functions:
Provide 24-hour neurosurgery call coverage on a 7-day rotation.
Provide operating room coverage for neurosurgical cases.
Evaluate and manage inpatient neurosurgical patients.
Provide inpatient follow-up care and rounding.
Evaluate and manage neurosurgical trauma cases.
Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and ancillary departments to ensure high-quality patient care.
Document patient encounters accurately and timely within Epic EMR.
Maintain effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams.

No Pediatric Coverage Required
Case Mix:
Approximately 80% Spine/Back
Approximately 20% Cranial
Additional Neurosurgical Trauma Cases
Qualifications:
Neurosurgery certification required.
Active state medical license or ability to obtain appropriate licensure.
Experience providing inpatient neurosurgical and trauma coverage required.
Experience managing spine/back and cranial cases required.
Ability to provide operating room coverage, inpatient rounding, and follow-up care.
Strong communication, collaboration, and patient care skills required.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
