American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2+ years of high-risk L&D experience and NRP/FHM certification.

• High-risk Labor & Delivery unit covering OB Triage, Postpartum, and Level 2 Special Care Nursery
• Care of laboring patients with high-risk conditions such as pre-eclampsia and diabetes for gestations 34 weeks 0 days and greater
• Involves C-Sections and External Cephalic Versions
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 18:00-6:00) with 36 or 48 hour options
• Floating to like units within scope as needed based on facility needs

• Active KS or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, FHM, and NRP required; AWHONN Advanced and AWHONN Intermediate preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, administration of blood and blood products, and use of infusion pumps
• Experience with high-risk delivery assistance, vaginal delivery, C-section circulation and scrubbing, and fetal monitoring (external and internal)
• Experience managing patients with conditions such as placenta previa, preterm labor, multiple gestation, and VBAC

• Provide care across antepartum, labor and delivery, postpartum, and newborn care areas
• Responsibilities include neonatal resuscitation, fetal heart rate monitoring, and medication administration such as Pitocin and Magnesium Sulfate
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility as locals are not accepted
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
