Travel RN - Telemetry

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Telemetry RN with prior travel experience for a night shift position requiring floating and weekend coverage.

• Active KS or Compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Preferred charge nurse experience
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
• Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV therapy, central/PICC/peripheral line care, blood product administration, and respiratory management (BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ABG interpretation)
• Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization, cardiac surgery, and sheath removal preferred

• Works in the Telemetry unit
• Cardiac Telemetry / MS-Tele / PCU-DOU-IMC-Stepdown patient population
• 1:6 patient ratio
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (18:45-07:15)
• Floating required to like units within scope as needed
• Weekend shifts required
• Provide cardiac telemetry monitoring and emergency response, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and use of rapid response/code teams
• Administer medications including heparin protocols and IV insulin protocols
• Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration
• Perform wound care, isolation precautions/PPE, and feeding tube management
• Support pre/post hemodialysis and renal failure management
• Assist with post cardiac angiogram and total joint replacement care
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
• Receives brief orientation when floating to other units
