Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. • Prepare bakery and deli items per customer requests using proper equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
• Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products in correct portions to prevent shrink.
• Recommend bakery or deli items to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.
• Follow food safety and temperature logs, and prepare foods according to instructions.
• Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients as per recipes using appropriate utensils and equipment.
• Package, label, and inventory ingredients and products.
• Check product quality, review 'sell by' dates, and take necessary actions.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report discrepancies in product ordering or shipping.
• Understand store layout and assist customers in locating products.
• Stay updated on current and upcoming promotions and product knowledge.
• Maintain inventory and stock conditions, noting discrepancies.
• Ensure proper storage temperatures and maintain logs.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers and promote trust among staff.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and safety procedures.
• Report unsafe conditions, accidents, and equipment needs to management.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment and manage conflicts appropriately.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
• Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
