We are looking for an engineering lead/architect with distributed systems experience. This Senior Principal Software Development Engineer will join the Oracle Cloud Marketplace team, design and build innovative services, and drive business outcomes.

• Lead the design and launch of major features into production, ensuring high availability, scalability, and resilience.
• Operate high‑scale services and make them more efficient and reliable, driving operational excellence.
• Manage projects and tasks independently, providing technical leadership to development teams.
• Build services that meet compliance and regulatory requirements while supporting geographically distributed data.
• Automate and instrument systems to collect the right data, enable proactive anomaly detection, and root‑cause issues before they impact users.
• Mentor engineers and foster a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
• Serve as a technical lead across the end‑to‑end stack, from backend distributed services to e‑commerce transactions and user‑facing web applications.

• Extensive experience designing, launching, and operating distributed systems at cloud scale.
• Strong ability to drive projects independently and provide technical guidance to teams.
• Experience in high‑availability, scalable, and redundant services that handle long‑distance data movement while meeting compliance.
• Proficiency in automation, instrumentation, and data analysis for operational excellence.
• Excellent balance of speed, quality, and incremental improvements, with a focus on simple, operable systems.
• Demonstrated proactive monitoring, anomaly detection, and root‑cause analysis before issues affect customers.
