: $25.66–$28.88 per hour (regular/full‑time)
The employee occupying this position must be licensed by the Washington State Department of Health as a Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP). They will provide counseling and advocate services to Native Americans who reside on the Yakama Reservation and surrounding area regarding chemical dependency.
Responsibilities- Provide 60% direct face‑to‑face patient care and 40% case management.
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions, including relapse prevention groups.
- Coordinate clinical activities with the treatment team and other staff.
- Maintain thorough documentation, ensuring records are confidential, secure, and in compliance with WAC .
- Provide educational presentations related to chemical dependency, including Choice Theory, Reality Therapy, and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT).
- Assess and diagnose Substance Use Disorder, and develop and update treatment plans using ASAM patient placement criteria.
- Refuse patients out for mandatory TB skin test and other health‑related appointments when required.
- Facilitate client behavior/cognitive restructuring and supervise implementation of the deferred prosecution program.
- Submit reports required by courts, the Department of Licensing, and the Department of Social & Health Services in a timely manner.
- Report non‑compliant patients to the appropriate authorities.
- Assist patients in contacting necessary agencies or services.
- Respond to directives of the supervisor and management staff in a professional and cooperative manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Associate’s Degree in Human Services or a related field.
- Certified and licensed as a Substance Use Disorder Professional (Washington State Department of Health).
- Registered Counselor through the State of Washington Department of Health per Chapter 18.19 RCW.
- Pass a Washington State Patrol criminal background check; no DUI infractions within the past four years.
- Minimum of four years with no substantial evidence of alcohol or substance abuse prior to employment.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
- Valid Washington State Driver’s License and ability to obtain a Yakama Nation driving permit.
- Pass a pre‑employment drug test.
- Enrolled Yakama Preference, but all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.
- Knowledge of chemical dependency addiction and the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) Patient Placement Criteria.
- Working knowledge of inpatient provider contracts, agreements, and policies.
- Understanding of post‑treatment crisis, relapse, and sober support.
- Proficiency with computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to communicate effectively with social service agencies and document patient progress.
- Ability to evaluate patients, conduct ongoing assessments, and update treatment plans.
- Maintain continuing education requirements and professional development.
- Respond to directives of the supervisor and management staff in a professional and cooperative manner.
