Accountant

Full Time – Scarborough, Ontario, Canada

• Work closely with and report to the Controller.
• Handle Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable and perform other administrative duties.
• Prepare and manage purchase orders, vendor bills and payments.
• Manage projects related to fees, progress billings and oversee collections.
• General accounting responsibilities including general ledger and balance sheet reconciliation.
• Assist with fees, estimates, budgets and forecasts.
• Prepare financial reports on a weekly and monthly basis or as needed.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end financial reporting.
• Review, analyze and rectify discrepancies and irregularities in financial entries, documents and reports.
• Ensure strict confidentiality and privacy of financial records as they relate to the organization and its business partners.
• Other duties as assigned.

• 10+ years’ experience in bookkeeping required.
• College or university degree/diploma in accounting, finance or a related field.
• CPA designation required.
• Advanced knowledge of Quick Books required.
• High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word required.
• Strong communication skills required.
• Knowledge of accepted accounting rules, practices, tax laws and reporting requirements.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, professionalism and integrity.
