Neo Performance Materials Helps Build Technologies of Tomorrow

Neo is fast-forwarding the green energy transition by manufacturing the critical building blocks of modern, sustainable technologies. Our advanced industrial materials - including magnetic powders and magnets, specialty chemicals, metals, and alloys - enhance efficiency and performance in everyday products and next-generation innovations. Join us in shaping a cleaner, more sustainable future!

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Manager, Accounting & Reporting who is excited to work on meaningful reporting, support a global close, and play a key role in modernizing our finance processes. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys the technical side of accounting but also values variety - consolidation, reporting, systems, and mentorship.

You’ll join a small, sharp corporate finance team and be trusted with work that directly affects senior management, our external reporting cycle, and Neo’s move toward better systems and stronger processes.

The position is a hybrid work model - home and office.

Key Responsibilities:

Consolidation & Month-End Close
  • Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close for Neo’s global group.
  • Review subsidiary submissions and follow up on timing or unusual movements.
  • Review our consolidated results and help ensure eliminations, FX, and adjustments are correct.
  • Keep consolidation checklists and calendars up to date and help improve them.
  • Work closely with the consolidations specialist (mapping and system fixes are not part of this role).
External Reporting (Financial Statements & MD&A)
  • Prepare quarterly financial statements and selected IFRS note disclosures.
  • Update our MD&A in Workiva and help prepare it for executive review.
  • Support the audit — respond to requests, prepare working papers, and document judgments.
  • Assist with light technical research when required.
Internal Reporting
  • Prepare and refine internal reporting packages for management.
  • Help with board-level reporting when needed.
  • Review submissions from subsidiaries to make sure information is complete and reasonable.
Process & Systems
  • Oversee our consolidation workflow in Sage and be involved as we transition to One Stream.
  • Help document processes, create clarity, and look for ways to tighten controls.
  • Suggest and support improvements that help shorten our close and reporting cycle.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Supervise one Analyst - review their work, help them grow, and plan work together.
  • Support cross-training and build a team that can back each other up.
Skills and Experience:
  • Canadian CPA (or final stages).
  • 4+ years in accounting, consolidation, or external reporting.
  • Good working knowledge of IFRS
    .
  • Experience with consolidation tools (Sage 300 helpful; One Stream an asset).
  • Strong review skills - you notice when numbers don’t make sense.
  • Calm under deadlines and able to manage several deliverables at once.
  • Someone who takes ownership, asks good questions, and communicates clearly.
  • Experience with Workiva is a plus.
What We Offer
  • Your work directly shapes what senior leadership, and the Board see each month and quarter.
  • You’ll be part of a team that is modernizing systems and processes - real change, not maintenance.
  • You’ll have exposure across Corporate Accounting, FP&A, and global subsidiaries.
  • You’ll have space to grow: stronger reporting, better systems, and leadership experience.
  • A balanced team culture - we take our work seriously but treat each other well.

If you enjoy a mix of reporting, consolidation, systems, and continuous improvement - with room to grow - this role could be a great fit.

Neo is committed to equal opportunity employment. Accommodations are available upon request from people with disabilities during the recruitment and selection process. We thank all applicants, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
