Senior Recruitment Consultant at Options Consulting Solutions, Owner Jackson ConsultingController – Interim 6 months to potential fulltime
Location: Toronto (Hybrid – 3 days in office)
About the RoleOur Client is seeking a highly skilled Controller to play a key leadership role in driving financial accuracy, strengthening internal controls, and enhancing end-to-end accounting processes. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CPA who thrives in a collaborative environment and is committed to delivering high-quality financial reporting.
What You’ll Do Drive Financial Operations & Accuracy- Oversee end-to-end accounting processes to ensure timely, accurate financial information.
- Lead the month‑end close, prepare journal entries, develop support schedules, and review work completed by accounting staff.
- Maintain precision and consistency across all accounting activities.
- Champion strong internal controls across accounting practices.
- Manage reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts and ensure outstanding items are resolved promptly.
- Maintain and oversee the fixed asset sub‑ledger with accuracy.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, cash flow reports, investment entries, and supporting documentation.
- Ensure alignment with budget, liquidity, and compliance requirements.
- Provide detailed analysis to support the Director of Finance in strategic decision making.
- Coordinate and support annual and interim audits through documentation, reconciliations, and timely responses.
- Prepare government filings, including HST returns.
- Oversee accounting processes related to the Client’s charitable foundation.
- Identify opportunities to enhance accounting policies, reporting processes, and system efficiencies.
- Collaborate across Finance and with multidisciplinary teams to strengthen financial governance and operational excellence.
- A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) in good standing with CPA Ontario
- 10 years of progressive accounting experience with strong technical accounting skills.
- Demonstrated confidence in mentoring and guiding accounting staff.
- Knowledge of ASPE
; familiarity with ASNPO - Highly proficient in Excel and Office 365
; comfortable working with financial systems and large data sets. - Detail‑oriented, analytical, and committed to continuous improvement.
