The Opportunity:
We’re looking for a Senior Internal Auditor to join our Internal Audit team.
Reporting to the Manager, Internal Audit, the Senior Internal Auditor is responsible for facilitating a systematic and ongoing internal evaluation of risk management, internal controls and governance processes. As part of Aviso’s Internal Audit team, responsibilities include independently planning and executing the approved internal audit plan and other related projects, delivering the results, and providing recommendations for improvements to enhance the effectiveness of internal controls and the control environment.
The Senior Internal Auditor will contribute to the continuing development of Aviso’s Internal Audit Practices and the Quality Assurance Improvement Program.

Lead and independently conduct audit engagements and follow-up reviews as determined by the internal audit planDeliver high quality work that is on time and in compliance with leading practices and IIA quality standardsPlan, perform, evaluate, summarize and communicate activities in a professional, competent, independent and objective mannerCommunicate with management to discuss audit findings and agree upon a course of action and/or solutions to mitigate the risksLiaise with contracted third-party auditors to facilitate effective and efficient completion of the internal audit plan.Become a trusted business partner to key stakeholdersProvide guidance to junior team membersPropose new work approaches and methods to optimize performance within the department in areas such as data analytics, data visualization and reportingRequirements
Your experience and skills:
Post-secondary education in accounting, finance or related field is requiredRelevant certification (Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or other applicable professional certification) is required5+ years of progressive internal audit experience, preferably within the financial services industryDemonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels within the organization, including senior managementExperience with audit management software and data analytics is an assetFluent communication skills in English are required and bilingual skills in French are an assetBenefits
