Our financial services client is seeking a Senior Accountant III (5–7 years) to manage accounting policy, advisory support, and IFRS reporting for the US Retail segment and ECL initiatives

Join a high-impact finance team supporting complex accounting policy and advisory work across retail and project portfolios. This role provides technical accounting leadership under IFRS for US Retail and bank-wide ECL matters with visibility across internal stakeholders. The position offers diverse project involvement with continuous exposure to technical challenges and evolving accounting standards. It represents an opportunity to contribute to key deliverables within a well-established banking environment.

Must Haves

CPA, CA designation with 5+ years of professional accounting experience
Strong background in IFRS technical research and resolution of complex accounting issues
Experience handling financial statements and external reporting deliverables
5+ years of stakeholder management within large financial or advisory environments
Prior experience in Big 4 accounting firms (KPMG, Deloitte, EY, PwC)
Post‑secondary education in business or accounting

Nice to Have

Experience with Expected Credit Loss (ECL) calculations and reporting

Responsibilities

Act as the primary accounting policy and advisory contact for US Retail segment and ECL matters
Provide technical accounting advisory under IFRS to internal teams and business units
Conduct detailed accounting research, benchmarking, and prepare supporting memos
Assist in preparation of MD&A,
Financial Statements
, and Supplemental Financial Information
Monitor and implement new accounting standards, ensuring compliance and relevant updates
Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external auditors
