Payroll Accountant

We're partnering with a well-established real estate organization that is seeking a Payroll Accountant to join its finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional who enjoys payroll administration while also supporting broader accounting and finance functions.

• Serve as the primary liaison with the external payroll provider, coordinating payroll submissions, employee changes, and issue resolution
• Review and oversee payroll processing to ensure accuracy and compliance with Canadian payroll legislation
• Administer employee onboarding, benefits, and payroll-related changes
• Prepare and file WSIB remittances and assist with HST reporting requirements
• Review WSIB classifications and rates to ensure ongoing compliance
• Prepare payroll journal entries, reconciliations, and allocations across multiple entities
• Support month-end payroll and accounting processes
• Assist with various accounting and finance responsibilities as required

• 2–3+ years of payroll experience, either processing payroll directly or managing payroll through a third‑party provider
• Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, statutory deductions, remittances, and employment standards
• Experience with employee onboarding and benefits administration
• PCP designation is preferred
• Accounting experience, or a willingness to support accounting functions, is highly preferred
