Position: Senior Accounting Specialist (AP)
Senior Accounting Specialist (Accounts Payable)
Hybrid work arrangement: office at least 3 days per week, may change as required.

Compensation:  Estimated annual base salary range $60,100 – $79,627.20 with a target bonus of 4% of annual base earnings possible through S&C’s annual incentive plan.

Reporting:  Reports to Manager, Finance & Accounting.

Key Responsibilities

Enter high volume of supplier invoices, ensuring match with purchase orders and receipts.

Schedule and process payments via EFT, ACH, wires or checks according to supplier terms; create payment batches and text files for bank upload.

Set up supplier banking details accurately; verify supporting documents for new or inactive suppliers.

Review and approve employee T&E reports through Concur and ensure compliance with company policies.

Enter credit card spend in the AP system and record & clear payments in Oracle.

Clear direct payments, online banking and inter‑company transactions from bank statements.

Follow up on invoices on hold and coordinate resolution with cross‑functional departments.

Support process improvement initiatives (DPO targets, cash flow improvements, AP automation).

Vendor Management

Establish strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, manage inquiries and resolve disputes.

Coordinate with Purchasing, Receiving and cross‑functional departments to resolve discrepancies.

Reconcile supplier statements periodically and resolve discrepancies on time.

Support month‑end and year‑end close activities, including accrual entries.

Generate AP reports (trial balance, AP aging) and reconcile AP accounts and accruals.

Support internal control implementation and external audit requirements.

Support AR functions (Billings & Cash Application) and prepare ad hoc reports for management.

Qualifications

College diploma or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.

3‑5 years of AP experience with high‑volume transactions.

Experience in a medium to large manufacturing or distribution environment.

Proficiency in accounting software (preferably Oracle ERP and SAP Concur) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

In‑depth knowledge of accounting principles, processes, and accounts payable best practices.

Evident attention to detail and organizational skills.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with ability to implement solutions promptly.

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, deadline‑driven environment.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Physical Effort
Normal or frequent minor physical effort required. May involve standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs and lifting/moving objects up to 20 lbs.

Work Environment
Acceptable working environment with minor or nearly no disagreeable conditions expected as part of everyday tasks.
