Summary of Responsibilities
Recording transactions in appropriate accounting software (Quick Books or Case Ware)
Preparing adjusting journal entries
Preparing monthly bank reconciliations
Calculating source deductions and prepare monthly payroll
Reconciling inter-company accounts
Preparing monthly and quarterly financial statements from Quick Books upon clients requests
Analyzing general ledgers to investigate any discrepancies
Preparing and filing HST returns
Preparing and filing T4, T5, EHT and WSIB
Calculating depreciation income tax accruals and reconcile inter-company accounts
Understand technical standards, with the expected level of assistance and supervision
Effectively work with CRA (Canada Revenue Agency) to resolve various tax issues on behalf of clients
Work directly with clients on bookkeeping matters and respond effectively to client requests
Recognize relevant financial statement issues from basic analysis and provide appropriate recommendations to managers and clients
Other duties, as required
Summary of Experience
3+ years of full cycle bookkeeping experience
Experience in preparing HST and payroll filings
Experience in preparing T1 and T2 tax returns is preferred
Experience in preparing bookkeeping for stock trading investment accounts is an asset
Experience in preparing Notice of Reader and working papers using Case Ware is an asset
Requirements:
Must be proficient in using Quick Books Desktop and Quick Books Online
Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook
Working knowledge of tax programs (Tax Prep or Cantax) is preferred
Working knowledge of Case Ware/Jazz-it is an asset
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong organization and time management skills
Strong ability to pay attention to details
Strong ability to handle multi-tasks in a fast-paced working environment
