Job Description:
Work Arrangement: Primarily In-Office (4-5 days per week)

About the Opportunity
Our Recruiting Division client is a well-established accounting practice specializing in Canadian and U.S. personal and corporate tax services in North York.
Due to continued growth and an upcoming retirement within our team, we are seeking an experienced Canadian & U.S. Tax Manager to join their firm.
This is a hands-on review role for an experienced tax professional who can immediately contribute by reviewing work, mentoring staff, and helping manage growing client volumes. The successful candidate will work directly with the firm's owner and play a key role in supporting both Canadian and U.S. tax operations.
Key Responsibilities
Review Canadian and U.S. personal tax returnsReview Canadian and U.S. corporate tax returnsReview financial statements and compilation engagementsReview T1 and T2 tax returns prepared by junior staffProvide technical guidance and support to preparers and junior reviewersAssist with managing workflow and ensuring timely completion of tax engagementsHelp reduce partner workload by handling technical reviews and client-related inquiriesParticipate in quality control and compliance processesSupport ongoing growth of the firm's Canadian and U.S. tax practiceTeam Structure
The successful candidate will work closely with:
Firm Owner / Managing PartnerMultiple tax preparersExisting review staffSeasonal tax team during busy periodsThe role will primarily focus on review rather than preparation work.
Qualifications
Required
Strong experience in both Canadian and U.S. taxationExperience reviewing personal and corporate tax returnsKnowledge of Canadian corporate tax (T2) returnsExperience reviewing financial statements and compilation engagementsStrong technical tax knowledgeExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionPreferred
CPA designation or equivalent experienceExperience with cross-border Canadian/U.S. tax mattersExperience supervising or mentoring staffExperience reviewing complex U.S. personal and corporate returnsFamiliarity with cloud-based tax preparation softwareTechnology
