This is a full‑time, on‑site Senior Accountant role based in Etobicoke, ON. The Senior Accountant will oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month‑end and year‑end closing activities. Responsibilities include preparing and analyzing financial statements, managing accruals and deferrals, and ensuring accurate revenue and expense recognition in line with applicable accounting standards. The role will support budgeting and forecasting, monitor variances, and provide financial insights to management to guide decision‑making.
The Senior Accountant will also assist with audits, maintain internal controls, support tax and regulatory filings, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve financial processes and reporting.
- Strong general accounting skills, including general ledger management, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month‑end/year‑end close.
- Experience with financial reporting and analysis, including preparation of financial statements, variance analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Knowledge of accounting standards (e.g., ASPE/IFRS), internal controls, and compliance with tax and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency with accounting and ERP software, advanced MS Excel skills, and the ability to work with large data sets.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational abilities, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to non‑financial stakeholders.
- Ability to work on‑site, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced, growth‑oriented environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation (or in progress) is strongly preferred.
- Several years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in telecommunications, technology, or other multi‑site or service‑based businesses.
