This opportunity is ideal for a CPA candidate or recently designated CPA looking to further develop their technical expertise while gaining exposure to public company reporting, operational accounting, and cross-functional business initiatives.
Responsibilities- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
- Support public company reporting requirements, regulatory filings, and external audit processes.
- Prepare working papers, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for financial reporting and compliance activities.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial reporting processes and controls.
- Perform full-cycle accounting activities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and month-end close procedures.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate financial records across multiple entities.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable activities, cash management, and intercompany transactions.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis initiatives across the organization.
- Assist with enhancing accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting workflows.
- Prepare financial analyses and management reporting packages to support decision-making.
- Collaborate with operational and corporate teams on special projects, strategic initiatives, and ad hoc analysis.
- 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- CPA designation or active pursuit of the designation is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of IFRS or the ability to quickly learn and apply accounting standards.
- Experience with in project-based, industrial, infrastructure, manufacturing, energy, construction, mining, or natural resource environments is an asset but not required.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working within multi-entity organizations.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive and collaborative approach.
