Junior Accountant

We are looking for a Junior Accountant to join Wattpad’s accounting team. You will be a key contributor in our accounts receivable cycle. As a member of the accounting team, you will utilize your A+ relationship building skills to partner with our vendors and employees to ensure compliance to our policies & procedures and an overall positive & smooth interaction.

• Billing (sales orders & invoicing) administration in accordance with accurate interpretation of customer contracts and effectively communicating with our various lines of business to gather required information
• AR payment application and collections follow-up with customers, including troubleshooting and escalation as needed
• Conduct AR payment variance analysis and perform reconciliations to identify outstanding balances, unapplied cash, short payments, and payment trends
• Ensure proper recognition of revenue and cost of sales according to accounting standards and company policies
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
• Work cross‑functionally with and Korea HQ consolidation and accounting teams to support group reporting, intercompany processes, and policy alignment
• Depositing cheques to the bank and sorting mail
• Perform month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end closing activities including collaboration and communication with external departments
• Assisting with audit requests
• May assist with AP related tasks, such as coding of invoices, expense reports, credit card reports, etc.
• Ad hoc tasks as they come up

• 1-3 years of relevant experience with accounting/bookkeeping and/or in the AR/AP cycle for a small/mid‑sized company with multiple currencies and legal entities
• Bachelor degree in accounting, finance, business or a related field
• Understanding of deferred revenue and accrued revenue
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets experience
• Meticulous, keen attention to detail and highly organized
• Impeccable customer service, relationship building and problem solving skills
• Strong communication (verbal and written) and possess professional maturity
• Proven track record of successful multi‑tasking and ability to prioritize work and meet strict deadlines
• Possess a roll‑up‑your‑sleeves attitude and thrive in a collaborative team environment
• Flexible and adaptable to execute ever changing job duties and take initiative on continuous improvement
• Experience with bookkeeping and/or in the AR/AP cycle for a small/mid‑sized company with multiple currencies and legal entities

• CPA, or working towards CPA
• Exposure to IFRS 15 and ASC 606
• Fluency in Korean
• Strong interest in leveraging AI tools, with a passion for process improvement and operational efficiency

$50,000 - $75,000 a year
