Invoice & Collections Specialist

Location:

Toronto (relocation required to Mississauga, ON by mid‑2026).

Full‑time. Compensation: up to CAD 53,000 yearly.

We are seeking a results‑oriented specialist responsible for day‑to‑day customer billing, accounts receivable collection, payment processing, and general AR maintenance.

• Create month‑end customer invoices and credit notes.
• Mail or email invoices and reports to customers.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with customers to ensure timely payments and resolve disputes.
• Follow up weekly with internal teams on work not yet invoiced.
• Reach monthly collection and DSO targets through constant communication with customers.
• Provide weekly status updates to the BPT President on collection progress.
• Resolve payment discrepancies and invoicing disputes by coordinating with internal operations.
• Post daily receipts (cheques, EFT, credit card payments).
• Provide customer service regarding collection issues or requests for documentation.
• Send overdue account statements.
• Maintain system customer cards with updated contact information.
• File and maintain customer records.
• Assist the Finance team during external audits and reviews.
• Provide ad‑hoc AR and collection reports to the BPT President.
• Support special projects as requested.

• Post‑secondary education in accounting or a related field.
• Minimum two years of full‑cycle accounts receivable experience.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
• Experience with Microsoft Great Plains is an asset.

• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
• Excellent communication skills for client interaction and report preparation.
• Strong written and verbal articulation.
• Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while supporting a team.
• High professionalism, judgment, and discretion with confidential financial matters.
• Proactive, self‑disciplined, goal‑oriented with strong productivity.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, handle multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
• Exceptional competence in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and LIMS (asset).

• Laboratory environment with periodic standing; occasional lifting of 20 lb or more may be required.
• Rotating evening and weekend shifts may be necessary.
