About the OpportunityOur client, a well-established private sector organization, is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to step into a critical contract role supporting a complex, multi-jurisdiction payroll environment. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys bringing stability, accuracy, and confidence to payroll operations while working alongside a collaborative HR and finance team.
You’ll play an important role in ensuring employees across Canada and the United States are paid accurately and on time. Working closely with payroll and HR partners, you’ll provide experienced oversight in a lean team where your expertise, independence, and attention to detail will have an immediate impact.

- You’ll oversee end-to-end payroll operations for Canadian and U.S. employees, ensuring payroll is processed accurately and on schedule.
- You’ll review payroll activity, identify discrepancies, and provide quality oversight before payroll is finalized.
- You’ll support a Payroll Associate by providing guidance, knowledge sharing, and day-to-day direction on payroll matters.
- You’ll manage payroll across multiple legal entities, including complex compensation elements such as bonuses and long-term incentive programs.
- You’ll work within ADP Workforce Now while partnering with internal stakeholders and external payroll providers to ensure compliance across jurisdictions.
- 7+ years of progressive payroll experience, including recent U.S. payroll exposure within the past five years.
- Demonstrated experience overseeing complex Canadian and U.S. payroll operations, including multi-state payroll, taxes, and 401(k) administration.
- Hands‑on experience with ADP Workforce Now.
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation, compliance requirements, and payroll governance across multiple entities.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to independently manage payroll in a lean, fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills, with a collaborative and proactive approach.
