Fund Accounting Manager

We're supporting a leading global fund services platform with the hire of a Manager, Fund Accounting within its Real Assets team in Toronto.

This is a strong opportunity for someone with deep real estate and/or private equity fund accounting experience who is ready to take ownership of complex fund structures, NAV review, financial reporting, audit coordination and team leadership within a global alternatives environment.

• Reviewing and producing high-quality NAV packages
• Providing technical accounting guidance internally and to clients
• Coordinating with operations, financial reporting, tax and investor relations teams
• Managing the external audit process
• Reviewing fund partnership agreements, PPMs and related fund documentation
• Supporting the implementation of fund structures on accounting systems
• Coaching, developing and training junior team members
• Reviewing real estate operations and related accounting processes
• Preparing and reviewing full sets of financial statements, including notes
• Supporting ad hoc reporting and wider business requirements

• 7+ years’ experience across real estate and/or private equity accounting
• 5+ years’ public or private accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of Real Estate Funds and Private Equity Funds
• Experience with GAAP and IFRS
• Fair value reporting experience for real estate investments and debt obligations
• Exposure to multi-family and/or commercial real estate accounting
• Experience preparing or reviewing full financial statements
• Strong supervisory or team leadership experience
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience with systems such as Yardi, MRI, Investran or similar

This would suit someone currently operating at Manager level, or an experienced Assistant Manager/Supervisor ready to step into a broader leadership role within real assets fund accounting.
