Financial Controller Pooch

Join Pooch, a Toronto-based leader in the pet gear industry, as a Financial Controller. Oversee accounting operations and enhance financial strategies in a dynamic, startup environment.

In this hands-on role, you’ll manage all accounting functions while supporting financial planning and analysis. You will lead a team, improve financial reporting, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations. Your ability to adapt and drive results will be crucial in this evolving setting where innovation meets practicality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily accounting operations and reporting processes

• Manage month-end financial reporting and records maintenance

• Lead audits and compliance with financial regulations

• Provide coaching to Senior Accounting Specialist and AP Specialist

• Conduct management reporting and budget variance analyses

Requirements:

• 2-3 years in a mid-to-large accounting firm

• CPA designation (or in progress) required

• Strong knowledge of ASPE standards

• Proficient in Excel;
Quick Books experience is a plus

• Excellent communication and people-management skills
