Position: Accountant – DOME Productions

Location: Toronto – 130 Merton Street, Toronto, ON M4S 3G9

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week. Overtime as required

• Month End duties, including preparing, uploading and reviewing journal entries, compiling analyses and financial statement review
• Prepare all account reconciliations for required balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis. Follow up on all reconciling items on a timely basis to ensure the balance sheet remains clean
• Update and maintain fixed asset subledger and depreciation reasonability tests. Liaise with Director of Engineering to ensure accuracy
• Prepare analyses and compile documentation in support of the annual external audit
• Work closely with the IT department to resolve system issues that may arise and ensure ongoing effectiveness of the system
• Perform event database administration and generate reports for financial analysis
• Assist in the administration of the corporate American Express program and reconciliation of travel costs
• Identify and rectify problems/issues through a thorough understanding of Dome company operations
• Compile and distribute monthly detailed management reports
• Manage petty cash and other general office administration tasks
• Process US tax installment payments, reconcile the US tax account and ensure all US tax correspondence is addressed in a timely manner
• Compile and prepare an annual summary of related party transactions.

• College or University degree
• 3 to 5 years of experience working in the accounting industry
• Enrollment in or completion of recognized accounting designation preferred (CGA, CPA, CMA)
• Strong accounting technical skills, including experience using accounting software (SAP experience an asset but not mandatory)
• Excellent computer skills, especially in Excel
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
• Strong attention to detail
• Self-starter, and able to produce high quality work under pressure in a timely and efficient fashion
• Highly motivated, proactive and goal oriented
• Ability to participate in high functioning teams

Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.

Additional Information:

Total earning range: $50,000 - $70,000. The advertised salary range may vary slightly as it is based on the company’s current salary structure, which may be revised by the company, from time to time, at its sole discretion. The agreed upon salary may also vary from the advertised salary ranges depending on several factors, such as the candidate’s qualifications, experience and internal equity.

The salary range above includes an Annual Incentive Plan objective which represent 4% of your Base Salary based on the achievement of individual and corporate objectives;
The Annual Achievement Incentive Plan (AIP) payment is calculated based on a formula that takes into account several factors, including, without limitation, corporate and individual performance measures.
