Position: Part-Time Accounts Payable Assistant (QuickBooks Experience)

We are looking for a detail-oriented
Part-Time Accounts Payable Assistant
to join our finance team and support daily accounting operations. In this role, you will be responsible for processing invoices, preparing payments, maintaining vendor records, and ensuring accurate and timely accounts payable transactions. The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.

Hourly Rate:
$20.00/hour

Schedule:
Part-time (3 days/week)

Start Date:
Immediately

Key Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Review, verify, code, and accurately enter vendor invoices into Quick Books
  • Process accounts payable transactions and prepare payments according to established schedules
  • Assist with vendor statement reconciliations and follow up on invoice discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate vendor records and support vendor communication inquiries
  • Verify invoice approvals and ensure proper documentation is maintained
  • Assist with month-end closing activities, including reconciliations, reports, and documentation preparation
  • Support audits and internal reviews by organizing and providing required financial records
  • Maintain organized digital and physical accounting files
  • Provide administrative support and assist with other office-related tasks as required

Skills & Requirements

  • 1 year of experience in Accounts Payable, accounting, bookkeeping, or related administrative roles preferred
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is an asset
  • Hands-on experience with Quick Books is required
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent accuracy in data entry and invoice processing
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable working with accounting systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Reliable, organized, and able to work independently
  • Ability to handle confidential financial information with professionalism and discretion
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
