About the Role
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Corporate Controller will lead the organization's corporate accounting and financial reporting function. This hands‑on leadership role is responsible for consolidations, external reporting, month‑end close, regulatory filings, and maintaining the integrity of financial information across multiple entities. The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting knowledge with the ability to drive process improvements and collaborate with senior stakeholders.
WhatYou'll Do Financial Reporting & Consolidations
- Lead the preparation and maintenance of consolidated financial statements and supporting schedules
- Manage the month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes across multiple entities
- Prepare and review intercompany reconciliations, consolidation entries, and financial analyses
- Oversee the preparation of management reporting packages and regulatory financial disclosures
- Ensure timely completion of external reporting requirements and regulatory filings
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and reporting requirements
- Prepare complex journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial analyses
- Coordinate external audits and serve as the primary finance contact for auditors
- Support technical accounting assessments and the application of accounting standards to complex transactions
- Assist with the preparation of board reporting materials and executive financial presentations
- Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting processes, controls, and operational efficiency
- Support finance transformation initiatives and the implementation of best practices
- Partner with cross‑functional teams to resolve accounting issues and strengthen financial governance
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic business initiatives
- Contribute to special projects, corporate transactions, and other ad‑hoc financial analyses
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline
- 10+ years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience
- Strong experience with corporate consolidations and multi‑entity financial reporting
- Advanced knowledge of IFRS and experience applying accounting standards to complex transactions
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Public accounting experience, including Big Four or large firm exposure, is highly preferred
- Investment, asset management, natural resources, or other complex corporate reporting experience is considered an asset
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with executive leadership and external stakeholders
- A proactive, detail‑oriented leader who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and takes ownership of key financial processes
