This is a hands-on, full-time contract opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who can step into a lean finance environment, take ownership of the day-to-day accounting function, and ensure continuity while the incumbent Controller is on leav

What You’ll Be Responsible
- For Own and manage the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial report
- ing.
Manage full-cycle accounting activities including general ledger, journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations and financial statement preparat - ion.
Maintain established month-end processes and controls within Net Su - ite.
Support the annual financial statement audit, including preparation of schedules and responding to auditor reque - sts.
Oversee and review Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable activit - ies.
Provide oversight and review of payroll accounting entr - ies.
Support inventory accounting and reconciliations within a CPG environm - ent.
Support accounting matters associated with a Canadian parent company and U.S. subsidiary, including cross-border and multi-currency considerati - ons.
Assist with accounting related to debt, financing arrangements and a more complex capital struct - ure.
Support lender-related requirements and reporting as nee - ded.
Maintain appropriate internal controls, accounting policies and audit readin - ess.
Respond to ad hoc accounting requests and partner closely with the Head of Finance & Operati - ons.
Utilize and maintain existing SOPs, close checklists and process documentation to ensure a seamless transition throughout the le
ave.
What We’re Lookin
- g ForCPA designation strongly prefe
- rred.
Previous experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller or Senior Accounting Man - ager.
Strong full-cycle accounting, month-end close and financial reporting experi - ence.
Net Suite experience strongly prefe - rred.
Previous CPG, food & beverage, manufacturing or inventory-based business experience is highly desir - able.
Experience with inventory accounting and related reconciliat - ions.
Experience supporting an annual financial statement a - udit.
Exposure to Canadian/U.S. entities, cross-border accounting and multi-currency operations is an a - sset.
Experience with debt accounting, financing transactions or complex capital structures is an a - sset.
Comfortable working within a small, lean and entrepreneurial organization with limited accounting redund - ancy.
Able to work independently, prioritize competing demands and solve problems without significant overs - ight.
Detail-oriented, accountable and comfortable moving between transactional accounting and higher-level Controller responsibili
