About the Position

This is a hybrid position for one of the top 20 accounting firms in Canada.

Summary of Responsibilities

Completion of small audit, review and compilation files and related tax preparation, with assistance

Draft corporate tax returns and prepare appropriate tax checklists

Prepare personal tax returns including gathering, sorting and entering client information into Tax Prep

Responds effectively to client & CRA requests

Begin to perform research and prepare more complex opinions for technical conclusions on client engagements

Provide suggestions related to an assignment or project

In house assignments such as accounting research or office administration

Summary of Experience

Public accounting experience

3+ years experience with tax and audit

Requirements:

Teamwork and the ability to support team goals

Strong commitment to quality and accuracy

Completion of a University Accounting degree and working towards obtaining their CPA designation

Development of a business advisor mindset is important

Thorough understanding of ASPE, CAS and Canadian Tax to be able to complete the more complex areas of an engagement.

Experience with IFRS and ASPE preferred

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate with external clients

Possess strong project management skills and organization, with the ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously

Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Caseware, Jazz-it, Tax Prep, Quick Books and Simply Accounting

Hours of Work: 35 hours per week; the role requires overtime as necessary to meet operational and professional requirements.

Location:

Hybrid work arrangement at our office located at 201 Bridgeland Ave, Toronto, On

Salary: $63,000- $80,000

Compensation placement will be based on depth of experience, demonstrated skill set, and alignment with the responsibilities of the role.
