We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing accounting and clerical duties related to the processing and maintenance of accounts payable transactions, as well as contract management tasks.
This role is hybrid in nature and aligned to our Toronto CPA Canada office.The targeted annual salary range for this position is $60,800-$70,935 and is commensurate with experience.
What You’ll Do
- Accurately process invoices, expense reports, and match purchase orders in the system
- Respond to email inquiries or requests by internal and external stakeholders daily, resolving invoice discrepancies and unpaid invoices, and collaborate with suppliers, financial institutions, and other departments as needed to resolve issues at hand
- Prepare and run weekly cheques and electronic file transfers (efts) and distribute via mail
- Maintain vendor files, set up new vendors for direct deposit or electronic file transfer (eft), and file the weekly processed vouchers, updating the cheque log
- Perform month-end account reconciliation of the Accounts Payable clearing account and assist during year-end.
- Assist in contract management by organizing and maintaining contracts, reviewing and monitoring contract terms and conditions, and ensuring all contracts are up to date and accurately reflected in the system.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1+ year of experience in an accounts payable role
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong computer skills and an aptitude for learning new applications.
- Ideal candidate will be knowledgeable using MS Office applications
- Intermediate to advanced Excel and any experience with Microsoft Dynamics F&O and SAP Concur is required
- Strong organizational and time management skills
