Company Description
A well-established organization with over 30 years of Property Management experience and a portfolio consisting of commercial retail, office and some residential space, is looking for an entrepreneurial Senior Property Accountant/Controller. Our client is a small organization with properties across several provinces.
This nimble operation requires an innovative, dynamic, up and comer, with the right personality and drive. They are looking for an assertive individual but also someone who has the willingness to learn and be moldable in order to grow with this organization. Because they are a small organization they are looking for a “Jack of All Trades” who is willing to also assist with the leasing and property management when necessary.
They are led by a team of “outside the box thinkers” and, as such, they need a transformational leader in finance…not just a transactional leader.

Compensation
$80,000 – $95,000, commensurate upon experience.
Experience
In this role your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Monthly & Quarterly Reporting Ensure monthly financial reports are up to date Reviewing monthly reconciliations and prepare financial statements Prepare quarterly financial statements and variance analysis Manage finance reports for special projects Consolidation of Joint ventures for financial reportingLeasing Ensuring leasing agreements are updated and documented in system Follow up on pending lease documentation Review and approve rent roll Calculate recovery charges Reconcile CAM and TMI costs and chargesFixed Assets Manage fixed asset schedules and prepare monthly journal entry Ensure fixed assets schedules are updated regularlyAudit Prepare interim and year-end audit schedules Ensure all deadlines are met and all audit paperwork is in orderBudget Preparation Assist accounts payable in budgeting the expense accounts Review operating cost budgets with Property Managers Prepare revenue and recovery cost budgets.HST filing Review HST for monthly filing Work with Statistics Canada for any issues, filing, delinquencies, etc.Education
Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and experienceAn accounting designation or pursuing a CPA with near completion a strong asset
