Part of a larger, well-resourced corporate group, this company punches above its weight in terms of the support, infrastructure, and finance expertise available to whoever sits in this seat. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Accounting and Reporting
Own month-end close including journal entries, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statement preparationPerform variance analysis on key expense and revenue lines versus prior month and prior year and present findings to managementPrepare monthly management reporting packagesMaintain fixed asset schedules and support annual budget preparation and trackingCoordinate external audit documentation and support consolidated reporting requirementsPayroll and Compliance
Process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 100 employees using Pay Works, full training providedManage CRA remittances, ROEs, T4s, WSIB, EHT, and year-end payroll compliancePrepare and file monthly GST/HST returnsAdminister group benefits including enrolments, updates, and RRSP reportingAP, AR and Bookkeeping
Manage full-cycle AP and AR including vendor relations, invoice coding, collections, and credit notesMonitor bank balances and flag cash flow concerns proactivelyPrepare bookkeeping for the related holding companyAssist with the planned transition to Microsoft Dynamics Business CentralAP,AR,Payroll,Reconciation
5 + years of hands-on full cycle accounting and reporting experiencePost-secondary education in accounting, finance, or a related fieldExperience with Quick Books Online or a comparable accounting systemPayroll platform experience (Pay Works knowledge is an asset; similar platforms considered)Strong Excel skills and comfort with the MS Office suiteSomeone who works independently, stays on top of things without being reminded, and has the confidence to flag something that does not look rightA communicator who is clear, professional, and easy to work with across all levels of the organizationSomeone who genuinely takes pride in accuracy and getting things done the right way
