A diversified real estate organization is looking for a Property Accountant to join its collaborative accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to expand their expertise in commercial real estate while working alongside experienced finance and operations professionals in a collaborative environment.

About the Role

Reporting to the finance leadership team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of commercial properties. This role offers exposure to month-end reporting, budgeting, reconciliations, and close collaboration with operational teams, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in property accounting.

What You'll Do
  • Prepare month-end journal entries and support the monthly close process
  • Produce financial reporting packages, including supporting schedules and working papers
  • Perform bank, balance sheet, and tax-related reconciliations
  • Prepare annual operating budgets and assist with financial forecasting
  • Support tenant recoveries, operating cost reconciliations, and year‑end billings
  • Process and reconcile intercompany transactions and chargebacks
  • Review invoices and expense allocations for accuracy and compliance
  • Monitor cash flow and assist with cash management activities
  • Partner with property management and operations teams to resolve accounting matters and support business objectives
What You'll Bring
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • CPA designation or progress toward a professional accounting designation is considered an asset
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within commercial real estate or property accounting
  • Experience preparing financial statements, reconciliations, budgets, and month-end reporting
  • Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with accounting or ERP systems
  • Knowledge of property accounting principles is highly preferred
