Financial Analyst, Inventory Accounting
Canadian Tire Corporation is seeking a Financial Analyst, Inventory Accounting for an 18-month contract based in Toronto, Ontario. Reporting to the Manager, Inventory Accounting, this role supports accurate financial reporting, process improvement, and business partnering across multiple retail banners including CTR, Mark's, Sport Chek, and Part Source.
Responsibilities- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analysis related to inventory, obsolescence, shrink, and foreign exchange
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial reporting activities
- Investigate variances, identify trends, and provide meaningful insights and recommendations
- Partner with Finance and business teams to resolve accounting issues and support key business initiatives
- Execute and maintain key financial controls and support audit requirements
- Identify opportunities to automate, simplify, and improve processes and reporting
- Leverage technology and analytics tools, including Copilot, to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and innovation
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA designation or actively pursuing CPA designation
- 2-3 years of accounting or financial analysis experience
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting principles
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
- Strong communication and relationship-building abilities
- Curiosity, initiative, and a passion for continuous improvement
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with Copilot, Power BI, HFM, or People Soft is an asset
Broadband salary range: $27/hr - $45/hr CAD.
