- Plan and prepare time budgets for review and audit engagements for Manager and/or Partner approval
- Prepare financial statements, required notes, and year-end letters
- Ensure planned procedures are completed according to firm policies and Canadian standards
- Clear queries and outstanding points satisfactorily
- Plan audits and complete high-risk sections of files
- Complete compilation and review engagements
- Train and supervise junior staff on audit engagements
- Prepare corporate, personal, partnership, and trust tax returns
- Review significant assurance engagement findings or accounting and presentation questions with the Manager or Partner and suggest resolutions
- Manage multiple engagements or assignments simultaneously
- Deliver audit, review, compilation, and tax services to clients
- At least three years’ experience in a public accounting firm
- University degree
- Completion of or close to completion of CPA, CA designation
- At least two years of practical experience in public practice
- Experience with audit, review, compilation, and tax engagements
- Experience with Case Ware, Case View, Tax Prep, MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Knowledge of Canadian Auditing Standards (CAS)
- Knowledge of Canadian Standard on Review Engagements (CSRE 2400)
- Solid knowledge of Canadian taxation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize multiple assignments simultaneously
- Excellent client service skills and ability to understand clients’ businesses
- Comfortable making contact with clients
- Able to require little supervision on routine tasks
Demonstrates expertise in audit, review, compilation, and tax services, with a strong understanding of Canadian Auditing Standards and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Capable of managing multiple engagements while training and supervising junior staff effectively.
