Our Tax practice is growing, and we are seeking a Tax Technician to join our team. This role requires professional proficiency in both Japanese and English to support our diverse client base and collaborate effectively with colleagues across the practice. In this role, you will contribute to a variety of tax, payroll-related, and compliance engagements while working alongside experienced professionals and supporting a diverse client base.
Whatyou will do
- Support tax and payroll-related client engagements
- Prepare tax returns, filings, supporting documentation, and working papers
- Maintain accurate client files and engagement documentation
- Communicate with Japanese-speaking and English-speaking clients to gather information and respond to routine inquiries
- Draft and coordinate client correspondence in both Japanese and English
- Collect, review, and organize data required for tax and compliance engagements
- Collaborate with team members to meet client deadlines and project timelines
- Conduct tax research and utilize tools such as Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat to support client deliverables
- Fluency in both Japanese and English, including business-level verbal and written communication skills
- Professional experience in an office, corporate, accounting, tax, payroll, or professional services environment
- Strong written communication, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat
- Client-focused approach with a demonstrated willingness to learn and develop new skills
- Educational background in business, accounting, finance, or a related field is considered an asset
- Knowledge of tax, payroll, Canadian payroll concepts, tax compliance activities, or tax return preparation is considered an asset
The expected base salary range for this position is $43,000 to $57,000 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant’s base salary within this range is based on the individual’s location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications. In addition, KPMG offers a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards program.
