Clairvest is a highly reputable mid‑market Private Equity firm with >$4Bn of assets under management and ~50 employees. We are looking for a dynamic and strategic Business Development Representative. In this role at Clairvest, you will play a pivotal role supporting our investment team in generating introductory leads/conversations, supporting our industry ‘domains’ in preparation for conferences and trade shows, and creating opportunities to build long‑lasting relationships that will drive growth you have an interest in private equity, a proven track record in business development, and the ability to identify and capitalize on opportunities, we invite you to join our team and be part of our continued success.
Given the continued success at Clairvest, we are expanding our team with a full‑time professional to support and further professionalize our business development function. This individual will work closely with the investment team and report directly to the Director of Investor Relations and Marketing.
Responsibilities- Sourcing, Prospecting and Lead Generation:
Identify, target, and qualify prospects through online research and conference preparation. Proactively identify potential investment opportunities for the domain (industry) teams. - Pipeline Management:
Work with the investment team to maintain accurate records of interactions, leads, and investment opportunities in our CRM (Salesforce). Monitor and manage the pipeline of prospects (CEOs/Founders/Owners) within each industry domain. Ensure consistent and prompt follow‑ups from the investment team for all top prospects. - Domain/Industry Engagement:
Engage with domain teams to understand their needs, industry trends, and conferences, and demonstrate the value of partnership. Support domain teams in building target investment lists and monitoring industry and company news flow. - Reporting:
Provide regular reports on business development activities, results, and forecasts to the leadership and domain teams. - Technology enablement:
Assist with developing and evaluating potential tools that enable effective pipeline management and sourcing. Proactively identify and implement opportunities to increase the efficiency and throughput of Clairvest’s process. - Clairvest & Industry Knowledge:
Develop a deep understanding of our strategic position within the private equity market and key industry verticals. Stay current on market trends, competitive dynamics, and the broader landscape, while aligning insights with each domain team’s needs and priorities.
- 0–2 years previous business development or sales experience through internships or previous work experience.
- A bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field.
- Experience in using CRM software and other sales tools.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with key stakeholders.
- Strong drive and confidence in the face of a challenge.
- Self‑motivated and target‑driven with a proven track record of achieving targets.
- Ability to adapt in a dynamic and fast‑paced work environment.
- Knowledge of investment strategies and private equity principles is a bonus.

CompensationCompensation Range: $50,000–$60,000 + bonus.
