Senior Business Analyst - Product

Opportunity Overview

The role sits within RBC Capital Markets' COO group and the Liquidity, Funding and Payment Services pillar. The Payments Product Organization focuses on improving straight-through processing rates and controls for high-value payments. The Product Team advances a transformation roadmap across people, processes, data, and technologies.

• Map, analyze, and redesign business processes to identify inefficiencies, automation opportunities, and improvements.
• Analyze Capital Markets payments ecosystems as part of a payments modernization program.
• Collaborate with operations, legal, compliance, risk, and technology teams.
• Support product rollout readiness through training and internal team support.
• Plan and execute test cases, develop roadmaps, and design payments dashboards and tracking tools.
• Manage stakeholder engagement, project reporting, and vendor relationships.

• At least five years of Business Analyst or Product Analyst experience in financial institutions, particularly Capital Markets or Payments/Cash Management.
• At least three years of hands‑on agile development in a product owner role, including user stories and backlog refinement.
• Knowledge of ISO and MT/MX payment formats, SWIFT messaging, FX payments, and instant payments processing.
• Understanding of innovative technologies and current technology trends.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with technical and non-technical resources.
• Familiarity with legal and compliance obligations related to payments and Capital Markets.

• Agile methodology, business data analysis, business process modeling, commercial acumen, communication, critical thinking, decision making, group problem solving, interpersonal relationship management, and requirements analysis.

• CSM or CTP certification is preferred but not required.
