Director, Operational Resilience

What You'll Be Doing

As a member of the Operational Resilience team, you’ll help strengthen how CIBC prepares for, responds to, and recover from disruptions across the Regions. As a Director, Operational Resilience, you’ll lead the execution, management, and delivery of the Regional Operational Resilience Program in alignment with Enterprise direction, governance, and priorities. You’ll work closely with business, infrastructure, technology, and risk partners to ensure program requirements are clearly communicated, embedded, and operationalized across the Regions.

You’ll also lead enterprise and regional reporting, oversee the maintenance and enhancement of the Operational Resilience repository, and provide insights that support effective oversight and decision-making. In this role, you’ll help advance CIBC’s resilience mandate by strengthening program execution, improving reporting, supporting regulatory compliance, and identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

• Program leadership
  - Lead the Regional Operational Resilience Program, ensuring alignment with Enterprise strategy, governance, and priorities. Partner with regional stakeholders to deliver key resilience activities and support the ongoing execution of the program across the Regions.
• Reporting and insights
  - Lead the development and enhancement of Operational Resilience dashboards and reporting for both the Enterprise and the Regions. Analyze data, assess risk insights, and communicate clear, concise recommendations to support oversight and decision-making.
• Process and repository management
  - Define requirements, create user stories, and test changes for the Operational Resilience repository. Monitor program actions and follow-up items, and support the timely completion of deliverables, remediation activities, and ongoing enhancements.
• Automation and continuous improvement
  - Identify opportunities to automate reporting, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen program processes. Contribute lessons learned and recommendations that support the continued evolution of the Enterprise Operational Resilience Program.
• Risk, controls, and compliance
  - Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and internal policies, standards, guidelines, and controls. Perform designated Operational Resilience controls by documenting processes clearly, executing controls consistently, and maintaining appropriate supporting evidence.
• Leadership and partnership
  - Provide leadership, coaching, and development support to build team capability and performance. Foster strong collaboration across business, infrastructure, technology, and risk teams to support effective execution of the resilience mandate.
