Senior Technological Site Supervisor (Power Supply) Hitachi Rail is seeking a self‑motivated Senior Technological Site Supervisor with expertise in Power Supply to lead construction and installation activities in a fast‑paced site environment. The role supports project execution, budget management, and health & safety compliance.
Accountabilities Support the local Construction Manager to ensure the execution of the construction‑related portions of the Project within time and budgetary constraints, and in compliance with Health & Safety, Quality, and Environmental Plans.
Follow and comply with HS&E rules as required by the HSE Management Plan.
Ensure subcontractors submit required Work Methods, Site Specific Work Plans, and Activity Hazard Analyses; record and approve these documents in Teamcenter.
Maintain a record of subcontractor installation progress and provide weekly reporting to the Construction Manager.
Identify potential problem areas and risks, then support the development and implementation of mitigation actions.
Interface with all key stakeholders—including Customer, internal functions, and subcontractors—to ensure a coherent and achievable 2‑week look‑ahead work plan and a 4‑week look‑ahead forecast; monitor and communicate issues and actions.
Monitor the construction schedule and provide up‑to‑date forecasts of progress and changes to the Project Scheduler.
Provide interface with Installation Engineering to ensure availability of approved, constructible designs within required time frames.
Track responses to Non Conformances (NCRs) and Requests for Information (RFIs) to ensure timely resolution.
Monitor the site materials inventory, report on material availability and shortages, and ensure correct management of site materials.
Required Skills / Knowledge / Ability 8‑10 years of supervisory experience in construction and installation projects; directing subcontractor work activities.
Technical background in electrical wiring, power supply, fiber, conduit/cabling, and excavations.
Experience with railroad power supply is preferred.
Ability to work various weekly shifts, including day and night, and in a railroad outdoor environment daily.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Education Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical background; high school diploma plus related technical training acceptable.
Ontario P.Eng is a plus.
Languages English – proficiency required.
Clear Criminal Background Check required.
Salary Range CAD $119,900 to CAD $179,800. This is a general guideline and not a guarantee of compensation.
