Job Description & How to Apply Below

We are seeking an experienced Senior Millwork Estimator to prepare accurate, competitive estimates for custom architectural millwork projects. This role is suited to someone with strong experience in commercial or retail millwork, cabinetry, casework, and high-end architectural woodwork. This is not a general construction estimating role.

Key responsibilities
  • preparing detailed cost estimates for architectural millwork projects; reviewing drawings, specifications, and bid packages to determine scope
  • completing material takeoffs and labour estimates
  • sourcing supplier and subcontractor pricing; preparing accurate and competitive client proposals
  • identifying project risks, cost-saving opportunities, allowances, contingencies, and escalation considerations
  • supporting value engineering by recommending cost-effective alternatives; coordinating with project management, design, and production teams to assess feasibility
  • maintaining strong communication with clients, vendors, suppliers, and internal teams
  • comparing estimated costs against actual project costs; and contributing to continuous improvement of estimating processes, tools, and pricing practices.
Qualifications
  • 5 to 10 years of estimating experience within architectural millwork, cabinetry, casework, or a closely related custom manufacturing environment
  • strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, architectural drawings, specifications, and blueprints
  • solid understanding of millwork materials, hardware, finishes, fabrication processes, machinery, and installation considerations; experience preparing conceptual and detailed estimates for custom or design-build millwork projects; proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • strong analytical, organizational, communication, negotiation, and time-management skills
  • ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with project, design, production, supplier, and client teams.
  • Knowledge of Ontario Building Code, or local construction requirements is a must.
