    About the role:

    We are actively seeking a Senior Project Controller to join the Côté Gold Mine site and report to the Manager of Projects. This role will be responsible for cost control, scheduling support, and performance reporting for earthworks and infrastructure projects within a mining environment. This role ensures projects are delivered on budget, aligned with operational priorities, and compliant with internal governance and reporting standards.

    The Sr. Project Controller will work closely with Project Managers, Engineering, Procurement, and Site Operations teams to control costs, monitor progress, identify risks, and support decision-making.

    Responsibilities:

    Cost Control

    • Support AFE preparation

    • Develop, maintain, and monitor project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports.

    • Track actual costs against budget and forecast, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.

    • Manage cost allocations for labour, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.

    • Support month-end cost accruals and financial reporting requirements.

    • Ensure compliance with company financial policies and capital project controls.

    • Support Budget cycle

    Planning & Scheduling Support

    • Assist in the development and maintenance of project schedules (Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent).

    • Monitor project progress against schedule and identify delays or risks.

    • Coordinate with project teams to update progress, milestones, and deliverables.

    • Support integrated planning across multiple concurrent earthworks and infrastructure projects.

    Reporting & Analysis

    • Prepare weekly and monthly project performance reports, including:
    o Cost vs. budget
    o Schedule performance
    o Forecasted completion costs
    o Key performance indicators (KPIs)

    • Provide variance analysis and actionable insights for management.

    • Track all projects trends

    • Develop and maintain project dashboards and tracking tools.

    Contract & Change Management

    • Track contract commitments, purchase orders, and invoicing.

    • Monitor subcontractor performance and costs for earthworks, civil, and infrastructure scopes.

    • Manage change orders, ensuring proper documentation, approval, and cost tracking.

    • Support claims analysis and documentation where required.

    • Ensure budget availability before approval of the change.

    Risk Management

    • Identify financial and schedule risks associated with projects.

    Collaboration & Communication

    • Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Field Supervisors, and Finance teams.

    • Support cross-functional coordination between operations, procurement, and engineering.

    • Present project status updates to stakeholders, including senior management.

  • Qualifications

    Key Skills & Knowledge:

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Finance, Accounting, Construction Management, or a related field is considered an asset.

    • Strong proficiency in cost control systems

    • Knowledge of earned value management (EVM) principles is considered an asset.

    Relevant

    Experience:

    • 7+ years of experience in project and cost control functions

    • Experience in mining, heavy civil construction, or earthworks/infrastructure projects

    • Familiarity with contractor-based environments and site operations.

    • Experience with scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project).

    • Advanced Excel skills

    • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or…
