Position: Senior Estimator/Project Coordinator (heavy Civil)

Senior Estimator / Project Coordinator Build Landmark Infrastructure Projects Across Ontario

Our client is a respected, COR-certified concrete forming contractor delivering critical heavy civil and low‑rise concrete structures across Ontario. From bridges and culverts to retaining walls, chambers, and complex structural concrete work, they have built a reputation for quality execution, safety, and reliability in the field.

As the company continues to grow, they are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator / Project Coordinator to become a key leader within the organization — someone who brings deep heavy civil expertise, strong operational instincts, and the confidence to take ownership of projects from tender to closeout.

This is an opportunity for a high‑performing construction professional to step into a role where your knowledge, judgment, and leadership will directly influence the company’s success.

The Opportunity

This is not a “plug‑and‑play” estimating role. We are looking for a seasoned professional who understands heavy civil concrete forming inside and out — someone who can confidently price complex work, identify risk before it becomes costly, and support projects through execution.

You’ll play a central role in both pre‑construction and operations, working closely with management, field teams, owners, and general contractors to ensure projects are delivered successfully and profitably.

If you thrive in fast‑paced environments, enjoy solving complex construction challenges, and want to have a meaningful impact within a growing company, this role was built for you.

What You’ll Be Responsible For Estimating & Pre‑Construction Leadership
  • Lead the estimating process for heavy civil and low‑rise concrete forming projects across Ontario
  • Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs, labour forecasts, and material pricing for:
    • Bridges
    • Culvert footings
    • Headwalls
    • Toe walls
    • Retaining walls
    • Chambers
    • Related concrete structures
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and tender documents with a critical eye for scope gaps and risk exposure
  • Build competitive and profitable bids using B2W Estimate and Excel
  • Develop and maintain unit pricing databases and historical costing information
  • Collaborate with management to refine bidding strategy and project execution planning
Project Coordination & Operations Support
  • Coordinate awarded projects from startup through completion
  • Attend pre‑construction meetings, site meetings, and owner/GC coordination meetings
  • Manage contracts, project documentation, subcontracts, and internal job setup processes
  • Track, prepare, and manage change orders through approval and closeout
  • Serve as a key communication link between field crews, management, clients, consultants, and general contractors
  • Help protect the company’s commercial interests while maintaining strong professional relationships
What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who brings both technical expertise and construction leadership to the table.

Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in concrete forming and heavy civil construction
  • Proven success estimating heavy civil concrete structures — particularly bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and infrastructure work
  • Strong proficiency with B2W Estimate and Microsoft Excel
  • Deep understanding of:
    • Formwork systems
    • Labour production rates

      Concrete construction sequencing
    • Material and equipment costing
  • Ability to confidently read and interpret civil and structural drawings
  • Experience participating in site meetings and managing project coordination responsibilities
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Commercially aware, solutions‑oriented, and confident navigating the realities of construction contracts and project politics
Why Join This Team?
  • Work on meaningful infrastructure projects across Ontario
  • Join a growing company where your experience and input are highly valued
  • Take ownership of both estimating and operational responsibilities
  • Be part of a safety‑driven, professional construction culture
  • Opportunity to make a direct impact on company growth and long‑term success
