Construction Supervisor
Restoration Mate is a leading restoration company specializing in water, fire, mold, wind, and other property damage emergencies. We provide rapid response, mitigation, environmental, and reconstruction services throughout the Greater Toronto Area.
We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and hands‑on Construction Supervisor to oversee restoration and reconstruction projects from start to finish.
Position SummaryThe Construction Supervisor is responsible for managing and supervising restoration and reconstruction projects throughout the GTA. This role oversees multiple active job sites, coordinates trades and subcontractors, manages project schedules, orders materials, performs site inspections, and ensures projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to company standards.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, highly organized, customer‑focused, and comfortable balancing field supervision with project planning and administrative responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities Project & Site Management- Supervise daily operations on restoration and reconstruction projects.
- Manage multiple active projects simultaneously.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, safety, and productivity.
- Coordinate trades, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal crews.
- Review scopes of work, project specifications, and construction drawings.
- Identify and resolve site issues, deficiencies, and scheduling conflicts.
- Ensure projects are completed according to company standards, building codes, and client expectations.
- Perform final inspections and deficiency reviews before project completion.
- Develop and maintain project schedules.
- Plan project activities in advance to ensure labour, trades, equipment, and materials are available when required.
- Coordinate project timelines to minimize delays and maximize efficiency.
- Monitor project milestones and proactively address scheduling concerns.
- Ensure all stakeholders are informed of project timelines and changes.
- Order construction materials, equipment, and supplies required for projects.
- Coordinate deliveries to ensure materials arrive on schedule.
- Pick up and transport materials, tools, and equipment as required.
- Verify material quantities and quality upon delivery.
- Maintain organization and accountability for project materials and equipment.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for homeowners, property managers, tenants, insurance representatives, and commercial clients during project execution.
- Provide regular updates regarding project progress, timelines, and upcoming work.
- Address customer questions and concerns professionally and promptly.
- Ensure a positive customer experience throughout the restoration process.
- Enforce all company health and safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Monitor workmanship and ensure all work meets Restoration Mate quality standards.
- Maintain accurate site documentation, photos, reports, and inspection records.
- Promote a culture of safety, professionalism, and accountability.
- Utilize project management and scheduling software to track project progress and manage workflows.
- Maintain detailed project notes, schedules, change orders, site reports, and communication logs.
- Upload project photos, documentation, and updates in a timely manner.
- Work closely with office staff, estimators, project managers, and management to ensure project information remains accurate and current.
- Minimum 3 years of experience supervising construction, restoration, renovation, or insurance‑related projects.
- Strong knowledge of residential and commercial construction practices.
- Proven experience coordinating multiple trades and subcontractors.
- Experience with restoration projects involving water, fire, mold, or environmental losses is considered a strong asset.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of construction safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to read construction drawings, scopes of work, and project documentation.
- Proficiency with project management, scheduling, and communication software.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and mobile applications.
- Valid Ontario driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Reliable transportation.
- IICRC certifications, trade certifications, construction‑related education, or equivalent experience are considered assets.
