Site Representative – Construction Services (Toronto)
RVA is seeking a Site Representative to join the Construction Services team in Toronto. This posting is for sourcing purposes only.
Duties- Carry out daily inspections and prepare daily inspection reports, summarizing all daily progress, identifying deficiencies of work and corrective action taken.
- Maintain comprehensive quality control records for soils, granular material, concrete, aggregate and structure quality.
- Monitor the quality and quantity of delivered materials and ensure supporting documentation is collected.
- Record equipment installation and testing.
- Audit contractor’s quality control plan and related documents.
- Review engineering drawings and contract documents.
- Monitor and report on contractor’s progress through photographic and record keeping; provide weekly summary photos to the Contract Administrator.
- Review red‑line drawings, as‑built drawings and contract documentation provided by contractors for compliance with specifications.
- Attend project and construction meetings and assist with preparing meeting notes.
- Respond to site inquiries or requests for information.
- Review and process contract extra work claims.
- Review monthly progress payments.
- Communicate with RVA’s Contract Administrator, Project Manager, RVA disciplines and third‑party inspection/testing firms.
- Liaise with clients, contractors and the public as required.
- Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of RVA’s client health & safety requirements and applicable provincial legislation.
- Completion of a community college diploma with Canadian accreditation as a graduate of a 3‑year civil engineering technologist program, a 2‑year civil engineering technician program, or an undergraduate degree in engineering from a recognized post‑secondary institution.
- Experience in linear projects such as water mains, sewers, and roads is a preferred asset.
- Membership or eligibility for membership in the Ontario Association of Certified Technicians and Technologists is an asset.
- Knowledge of contract language, drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).
- Superior English communication skills, both oral and written.
- Valid G licence and a reliable vehicle.
- Strong ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with staff and clients.
- Ability to follow directions and pursue unresolved items.
- Understanding of construction risks and safety considerations is an asset.
$30.50 – $43.50 per hour. Compensation will be determined based on education, qualifications, experience, and other factors.
