Co-op, Assistant Coordinator, Estimating

Opportunity

The Student Estimator role is an 8‑month co‑op opportunity supporting the Civil East team in proposal development and estimating.

• Receive mentorship from Senior and Chief Estimators on bidding projects.
• Pursue projects including private client proposals, design‑build, and bid‑build across roads, bridges, elevated guideways, airports, and hydro‑power dams.
• Assist in proposal preparation: quantity take‑off, updating estimate software, database analysis, subcontractor/vendor quote comparison.
• Support project execution and design‑build processes with design teams.
• Prepare portions of estimates using Hard Dollar Estimating software and schedules using Primavera P6.
• Prepare handover documents for site teams.

• Current enrollment in a university or technical college diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract.
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Attention to detail, mathematical, analytical skills, and accuracy.
• Strong relationship‑building skills with internal and external clients.
• Service orientation and teamwork.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; database and Primavera P6 knowledge is an asset.

Pay range: $23 - $28 per hour, determined by location, education, experience, skills, and job conditions.
