Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager / Director, Facilities Capital Projects to provide leadership during a transitional period within their Facilities department. This individual will oversee a portfolio of capital construction and renovation projects while ensuring projects continue to progress on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with organizational priorities.

This is a highly visible leadership role that requires someone with a strong background in facilities capital projects, building systems, contractor management, and stakeholder engagement. The successful candidate will work closely with consultants, architects, contractors, and internal leadership while managing a team responsible for delivering multiple projects across a large institutional portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage projects from planning through completion, including budgeting, scheduling, procurement, construction, commissioning, and close-out.
  • Coordinate consultants, architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, risks, change orders, invoicing, and contract administration.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and project documentation to ensure alignment with project objectives and organizational standards.
  • Oversee commercial renovations, capital renewal initiatives, infrastructure upgrades, roof replacements, and building improvement projects.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to minimize operational disruptions while maintaining project timelines.
  • Facilitate project meetings, provide status updates, and resolve issues throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, health and safety regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Support ongoing improvements to facilities while maintaining strong relationships with vendors and external partners.
