Our client is a well-established construction subcontractor in the telmunications infrastructure construction industry, specializing in fiber-optic network solutions across Canada. They have an existing job open for a Tel Fibre Optic Engineering & Splicing Estimator to be based out of their office in the Brampton, Concord or North York, ON area. The Estimator will prepare accurate quotes, assist with RFP/RFQ submissions, and support fibre optic splicing and installation projects across Canada.

This requires 5 days a week in the office and some travel to splicing sites, less than 30%.

Prepare cost estimates for fibre optic splicing, installation, outside plant and FTTH projects.

Review drawings, route maps, splice diagrams, project scopes, tender documents and client requirements.

Build quotes, bid packages, pricing schedules and change order estimates for tel infrastructure work.

Work closely with project managers, field crews and subcontractors to confirm pricing, materials and labour needs.

Tel Fibre Optic Engineering & Splicing Estimator will have 3–5 years of estimating experience in telmunications construction, ideally with a subcontractor supporting fibre splicing, OSP, FTTH or tel infrastructure projects. Candidates should have strong knowledge of fibre optic splicing, installation methods, material takeoffs, drawings, Microsoft Excel and blueprint/takeoff tools.

A bachelor’s degree or two-year technologist/electronics college diploma is preferred, along with a valid Canadian driver’s license.

Qualified candidates already in the Brampton, Concord or North York, ON area able to work 5 days on site with experience preparing tel fibre splicing estimates, reviewing RFP/RFQ documents,pleting material/labour takeoffs and supporting bid submissions are invited to forward their resumes in MS Word format to Preeti.
