Construction Management Field Manager

This position requires working onsite in a 40 hour per week rotating shift schedule including nights and/or weekends.

Work is performed across several sites including Lakeshore West, Lakeshore East, Barrie, Union Station.

Our Capital Project Group within GO/UP is looking for a Construction Management Field Manager to join the team! Reporting to the Senior Manager of the Construction Management Field, the Construction Manager Field will provide field construction management support to the Delivery Teams (DTs), Contractors and Corridor Leads on the GO Expansion program. You will use your experience in health and safety, work planning, quality and site observation to drive a culture of best-practice construction management on GO Expansion.

You will oversee the safe delivery of construction projects within your designated project portfolio such as, signals, stations and track.

What will I be doing?

Coordinate with Metrolinx Health & Safety (H&S) to act as a safety role model across an assigned department of delivery works.

Identify and mitigate construction resources and other constraints.

Walks the construction sites, evaluates design information, and reviews drawings and specifications

Identifies any deficiencies and non-conformances with the contract and construction documents and ensures any appropriate documentation is prepared.

Coordinates and assists in reviewing and analyzing the completed site progress reports for comprehensive and high-quality photo and quantity logs and recorded site activities.

Support the Senior Manager in recommending changes to project delivery plans and identifying areas of improvement to be implemented in relevant business and operating processes.

Support positive collaboration through strong working relationships and communication between business units and departments.

Represent the field construction management team at meetings with stakeholders, such as consultants, vendors, Metrolinx executives, and senior management, to provide construction input associated with the field construction service improvement projects or service extensions.

Contribute to the development, recommendation, and implementation of scope, policies, and plans with construction management, standards, technical requirements, infrastructure and system development, constructability design reviews, change management, and Request for Proposals or Request for Quotes (RFPs or RFQs), in conjunction with established KPIs.

Support the Senior Manager in leading the development of operational plans for the functional operation of the field construction management by providing actionable recommendations on strategies and implementation options.
