DOG Post , located on the border of Toronto and Mississauga, is looking to add an Online Editor to our ninja team. Purple

DOG Post is a friendly yet fast-paced environment, where challenge is a daily routine, and opportunity to grow is a given.

The Junior Online Editor works under the direction of the Online Editor, Project Manager and/or Operations to conform, assemble, package, take apart, export and re-export long-format project media files, as well as a wide variety of post-production-related activities. This position is best suitable for someone who is looking to step up and aspires to become an Online Editor.

The ideal candidate is highly proficient as a video technician, has a creative eye, is a self-starter and is motivated to continuously grow professionally, technically and creatively.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conform of offline editorial projects in DaVinci Resolve for colour correction
• Collaborate closely with all departments, and provide assistance with project turnovers when necessary
• VFX Editorial
• Ingest and insertion of stock elements & completed VFX shots
• Creation of slates, title cards and credits scrolls
• Quality Assurance of exported work or files received from other departments or external vendors
• Packaging of the audio and video material according to delivery specifications
• Preparing turnover elements for closed captioning and described audio
• Transcoding, repackaging, and preparation of various deliverables
• Resolving of QC flags
• Other post-production tasks as necessary

IMPORTANT PREREQUISITES:

• 2+ years of experience in a professional long-form picture post-production environment
• Deep understanding of industry format standards such as PAL, HDR, Dolby Vision, frame rate, codec, resolution, aspect ratio, audio settings/configurations, metadata
• Proficiency with both Mac and PC operating systems
• Understanding of Digital Cinema standards and protocols
• Understanding of concepts of frame rate conversions, pulldown, and standard conversions
• Expert-level knowledge of various NLE platforms
• Expert-level knowledge of Media Management, Adobe Premiere Pro and the edit section of DaVinci Resolve
• Basic-level knowledge of Avid Media Composer
