Canada Helps has a mission to spark generosity and power positive change. As part of this work, we are developing video content to inspire Canadians to engage with the work of charities, as well as with their communities. In 2025, we released a PSA, a series of real interviews on generosity, and have previously produced a series of videos highlighting charities’ impact.
We’re seeking someone with experience working as a producer, and with a passion for social impact, to join our team for an 18‑month contract to help advance the next phase of this work. This role will be part of the Office of the CEO, reporting to the SVP Community and Strategic Initiatives.
This position is GTA‑based and remote, with some in‑person meetings required in Central downtown Toronto. Occasional travel and weekend work may be required due to events and partnerships. The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $110,000 CAD.
Responsibilities- Translate strategic and creative concepts into actionable production plans
- Manage program logistics, timelines, and operations, from planning to execution and wrap‑up, ensuring the project stays on schedule and budget
- Manage project budgets, optimizing resources to achieve strategic goals
- Work with leadership to set success metrics and report on results
- Handle administrative duties including expense reports, invoicing, and working with the legal department on contracts
- Recruit and support program participants and volunteers; develop partnerships with aligned organizations and select appropriate vendors
- Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, and vendors
- Develop and maintain relevant sector and industry contacts
- Communicate proactively and confidently and collaborate with cross‑functional teams, setting expectations, resolving blockers, and ensuring alignment throughout the project
- 5 years experience in producer or similar roles, such as production manager, with a network in the Canadian film industry
- Demonstrated experience putting together and managing a complex production schedule, budgets, scheduling, and project management
- Ability to demonstrate initiative, autonomy, and ownership of projects and willingness to be hands‑on
- Strong knowledge of film production, including creating for digital video production
- Accustomed to working with and understanding the needs of various internal and external partners
- Ability to speak to a wide range of audiences with strong presentation and writing skills
- Ability to work well as an independent collaborator and as a team member
- A love for local storytelling, strong editorial instincts, and a desire to thrive in a dynamic, fast‑moving environment
- French is a strong asset
- Knowledge of the charitable landscape is a strong asset
- Must be willing to travel with flexibility of weekend/evening hours for events
Start date:
mid‑February 2026. 18‑month contract role, pending funding approval.
